Every stone we ship leaves Wuzhou with a GRA certificate. Here is what each field means, so you can explain it to your customer instead of just handing over a card.
The fields on the GRA card
- Laser inscription number: a code like GRA-HC-1002. It is laser-engraved on the girdle of the stone and printed on the card. The two must match.
- Carat weight: measured to two decimals, the actual weight of the individual stone.
- Color grade: D to G for our stock, D-E colorless, F-G near-colorless.
- Clarity grade: VVS1, VVS2, VS1, VS2, graded under 10x loupe.
- Cut / shape: round, oval, pear, etc., with measured millimeter dimensions.
- Measurements: length x width x depth in millimeters - this is what your setter actually needs.
How to verify a stone
Look at the girdle under 10x magnification and you will see the laser number. It should read exactly as printed on the certificate. If the numbers do not match, the stone is not the one the card describes.
